Über uns Celeste Health, Inc. is an AI-powered revenue cycle management company. We prepare and submit claims for ambulatory surgery centers, MSOs and outpatient provider groups, working as credentialed users inside each client's own EMR and clearinghouse. Our team of coders, billers and engineers pairs expert coders with our own platform and Payer Rules Database so every claim goes out clean the first time.
The role We're hiring a remote ASC Coding and Claims Specialist to own surgical claims for our ambulatory surgery center clients, from signed procedural note to clean submission. You'll code GI and endoscopy cases, build claims inside each center's own systems, and partner with an engineer who automates the repetitive steps, so your time goes to the cases that need a coder's judgment.
This is a contract role with set daily hours. You must be available on weekdays during Eastern Time business hours.
What you'll do
- Code ASC procedures from operative and procedure notes using CPT/HCPCS, modifiers and ICD-10-CM.
- Review documentation for completeness and medical necessity, and flag missing items for a provider query.
- Apply NCCI edits, payer-specific rules and the client's coding guidelines.
- Build and submit clean claims in the client's practice management system (such as SIS) and clearinghouse (such as Waystar).
- Turn cases around within one business day of a signed note, at a steady daily volume.
- Track pending items and document your work clearly in claim notes.
- Work alongside our engineering team to improve automation and the Payer Rules Database.
What you'll need
- An active CPC or COC certification
- 2+ years of ASC or outpatient surgical coding; GI and endoscopy strongly preferred
- Strong command of CPT/HCPCS, modifiers, ICD-10-CM and NCCI edits
- Reliable weekday availability during ET business hours, with a quiet, HIPAA-compliant workspace
- To pass a background check and OIG/SAM exclusion screening, and to complete HIPAA training before starting
Nice to have
- Experience with SIS, Provation or Waystar
- Experience with commercial payers and Medicare Advantage
- Comfort working with AI tools and a fast-changing workflow
